I say "thoughtful" but that's what I really mean - these folks have designed these fonts with programming in mind, considering spacing, feel, density, pleasantness, glance-ability, and a dozen other things that I'm not clever enough to think of. Perhaps you might want check 'Hasklig', it is the same as 'Source Code Pro' but with ligatures! I think it's the best font on vscode. I suggest you as well 2 themes: Github Dark and New Moon.
Enabling ligatures is fairly strait forward. Meaning if VScode does not find ‘Hasklig’, it would look for ‘Fira Code’ and so on. There are a lot of dev friendly fonts out there and you can have a look at here and here for more. Hasklig This is basically Source Code Pro but with ligatures. Source Code Pro is a good monospaced font for coding and this “extension” makes it even better. Hasklig uses ligatures for rendering multi-character glyphs more “vividly” and to correct problematic spacing. Theme: A Touch of Lilac, Font: Hasklig In a Search Editor, results can be navigated to using Go to Definition actions, such as F12 to open the source location in the current editor group, or ⌘K F12 (Windows, Linux Ctrl+K F12 ) to open the location in an editor to the side.

To do this open the VS Code settings (File -> Preferences -> Settings) select the Text Editor group and Font settings. One is the actual font. The other is the setting that enables ligatures in VS Code.

As you can tell by the name, it's great in Haskell, as for a while a number of Haskell people were taking to using single character (tiny) Unicode glyphs like ⇒ for things like =>. Clearly this was a problem best solved by ligatures. Do any of you use programming fonts with Medium I felt the same way.

This editor works across platforms on MacOS as well. - Windows 10: Snapping, HiDPI, sound management, drivers just work, lots of apps in windows store, if not you have everything in chocolatey anyway. Then you'll have to go into VSCode settings panel and point to the newly created CSS file.
